To read a novel.

To comfy-up at home or a coffee shop for an hour and read.


When we read, not only are we improving memory and empathy, but research has shown that it makes us feel better and more positive too. Science has shown that reading has some amazing health benefits, including helping with depressioncutting stress, and reducing the chances of developing Alzheimer’s later in life.   Dec 12, 2016

Reading also benefits…

  • Imagination which in turns improves problem solving and creative endeavors;
  • Vocabulary and thus ones writing and speaking;
  • Knowledge in many forms–history, far off places, cultural mores, etc.;
  • Understanding others through characters in books and thus compassion for self and others.

I am continuously amazed at how the simplest things, like reading a book for an hour, can have great impact on our health, happiness, and love of life.
