CHECK IN for Week 13: REFLECT

download

The task for Week 13  of a Lighter More Loving You was to cover your mirrors for a day.

Skip using a mirror to seek approval for your “okay-ness” based on outward appearance.

The “human” world spends much time on telling us how to REFLECT ourselves to others…from our body size to how to wear a scarf. No one needs a reminder of all the BEAUTY messages we get each day on weight, clothes, skin, age, exercise, nutrition, and on and on.

At the yoga studio I attend, there is a post-it note on the mirror that says, “You are beautiful”.

Is it only by our REFLECTION in the mirror that we can say we are beautiful?

This was the point of the exercise…YOU CAN BE BEAUTIFUL without seeing your reflection in a mirror!

When I start getting overly analytical about what I see REFLECTING in a mirror, I remind myself to concentrate more on my HEART than my HAIR!!

What do you want your HEART to REFLECT?

We are each “human” and “spirit”.

Work on your heart (spiritual life) and you will become radiantly beautiful!

The best part of becoming spiritually beautiful is that the only WORK you need to do is to have a spiritual life, stay connected in it, and the spirit does the work.

2 Corinthians 3:18 The Voice (VOICE)

18 Now all of us, with our faces unveiled, reflect the glory of the Lord as if we are mirrors; and so we are being transformed, metamorphosed, into His same image from one radiance of glory to another, just as the Spirit of the Lord accomplishes it.

If you haven’t gone a day without your mirror, I encourage you to do so.  There is nothing wrong with doing your hair, wearing makeup, taking care of yourself, or wearing nice clothes.  That is all wonderful loving self-care…and needed.  If you are overly self-critical or have a hard time going without your mirror…

Concentrate more on what you want your Heart to REFLECT  rather than your Hair and you will have a Lighter More Loving You!!

Cheering You to a Whole Beautiful Reflecting Heart,

Barbara
