Week Two of a Lighter More Loving You

Make a list of 10 things you’d like to do in 2018.

Take some time this week to sit quietly. Bring a journal or notebook. Write a list of 10 things you’d like to do this year.  They can be actual “doing” thing or a way you’d like to “be”…for example…be more peaceful.

What is your heart longing to do this year?  What is something you’ve been wanting to do and put off…is this the year? Is there a quality in someone you’ve admired and wanted to “be” more like?

If you need some guidance, pick something for each of these areas:

  1. Home
  2. Health
  3. Work
  4. Social
  5. Intellectual
  6. Creative
  7. Financial
  8. Family
  9. Spiritual
  10. Community

These are INTENTIONS not necessarily GOALS.  What is the difference?  Stress! Goals tend to cause most people stress.  There is a feeling of HAVE TO or if I didn’t do it, I failed.

Intentions are more of a heart directed path.   Your heart is more spirit based. Its kinder and more compassionate.

Writing your intentions for the year….just 10 of them…also lets God and your spirit know what is important to you this year.  Trust that what you’ve written will come to pass, even if it is carried over to the next year.

I have made this list of 10 things for 10+ years now.  I keep it in my journal and look at it often…not every day…but every couple months.

It’s a good reminder of what I’m shooting for this year.  It helps me make decisions in that direction.

Some years I have completed everything.  Some years I carry over that “doing” or “being” over to the next years list.   Some intentions were fulfilled in a much better or different way than I had thought…often with much delight!

The thing is, I wrote them down, had an intended path, expected the best (or better), trusted that what got accomplished or didn’t get fulfilled was exactly they way it was supposed to be, and was able to see many times how God works.  It is enlightening, heart strengthening, trust inducing.  The list can make you lighter and more loving by teaching you trust, compassion, and kindness.

Enjoy a quiet “sit” this week and make your list of 10 things you’d like to do this year.
